Are You a Circus Juggler?
Effective leaders are like jugglers in the circus. They are balancing multiple priorities while remaining focused on the mission of their organization. In order to simplify this, let's focus on four primary categories of organizational performance: finances, people, product or service quality and social enterprise. Finance is the easiest to prioritize because it is easiest to measure. People are the staff and their engagement in the organization. Product or service quality determine your long term success and social enterprise are key relationships with the broader community. At the center of all of this is your obligation to the stakeholders of your organization and your mission. Your job is to know where you are doing well and where you are needing to improve and adjust resources accordingly.
