It is wise to be efficient with “things”; your work processes, computer systems, inventory control, even how your workspace is laid out. However, you should never try to be efficient with people. With people, strive to be effective. Make the most of the precious time you have with each one. Leverage the efficiency of you work with “things” to create time, energy, and empathy for people. You will get more out of your workday and others will get more out of you.
