Teaming

Throughout my career, I have admired those organizations who found a way to consistently give their staff “voice”, to speak truth to power, to be empowered, to be not a cog in the machine but an engine for change. Amy Edmondson PhD, from the Harvard Business School, calls this psychological safety and feels it is the very foundation of healthy teams. In her book “Teaming”, Edmondson provides manywonderful illustrations of how the behavior of teaming has worked or “not” in shaping the success and failure of many iconic businesses. She also stresses the importance of a leader’s vulnerability and their ability to use humility as a strength.- Stu Freed
